Купальщики переодевались в купальные костюмы в домике на колесах, потом кабину закатывали в воду и купальщик мог открыть дверь, обращенную к морю. Купаться - погружаться (“dippers””) следовало под прикрытием вагончика, так чтобы купающего не было видно с берега.

После купания надо было переодеться и поднять флаг над крышей, чтобы персонал пляжа вкатил купальную кабину обратно на берег.
Персонал состоял из людей того же пола, что и купальщики (мужчины и женщины купались отдельно - в Брайтоне купаться отдельно следовало до 1930 года)
